Join the Mercer Island Climate Challenge and help create a cleaner, healthier future!
Dear Mercer Island Neighbors,
Being good stewards of the environment is the Islander way. We've seen this in so many forms, from home and community solar, electrification of private and City vehicles, and green power purchases, to reductions in consumables and solid waste collection that seek to lessen the impacts on our landfills and reuse more items.
Islanders have shown that they are up to the challenge to meet a 50% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2030, but Islanders often ask me, how can they help?
We are launching the Mercer Island Climate Challenge to answer this question and make it easy and informative to measure and reduce our environmental impact. Islanders can select the actions important to them to track their progress and watch their carbon footprint shrink as they make simple changes. Islanders can collaborate with neighbors, share ideas, and even engage in friendly competition.
Every Islander plays a role in helping us meet our goal. Please consider joining my family and me in the Mercer Island Climate Challenge today. Together, we make a difference!
Sincerely,
Mayor Salim Nice
